eEye Digital Security Posts Record Revenue and Continuing...

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) January 19, 2011

eEye Digital Security, a provider of IT security and unified vulnerability management solutions, today announced that the Company posted record revenue for 2010 and continues to be profitable as it enters the new year. Culminating with the December 2010 launch of Retina CS 2.0 unified vulnerability management solution, eEye demonstrated significant momentum throughout the year, driven by investments in technology personnel and top-level management, as well as a new corporate logo and increased thought-leadership.

In addition to record revenues for 2010 and the addition of hundreds of new customers, the Company continues to be profitable on both a cash and GAAP basis. Cash flow generated from operations has positioned the Company to continue to invest in research and development, a key focus in 2010, during which the Company doubled its development resources. These technology-focused investments have already delivered results, as evidenced by the release of Retina CS 2.0, a significant enhancement to the Company’s flagship solution, Retina Unified Vulnerability Management. Notably, Retina is at the core of the two largest vulnerability management installations in the world.

Retina is the only solution that integrates assessment, mitigation, protection, and reporting into a complete offering with optional add-on modules for configuration compliance, regulatory compliance reporting, and integrated patch management. Uniquely, Retina enables IT security professionals to centrally manage organization-wide IT security from a single, web-based console.

“It’s a very positive indicator that our 2010 investments in research and development, as well as in top-level management are already paying off,” said Kevin Hickey, eEye CEO. “To achieve record revenue in what I’d define as ‘an investment year’ is an excellent gauge of the strength of our technology and business strategy.”

To punctuate the Company’s 2010 accomplishments and enter 2011 with an updated image, eEye revealed a new corporate logo, which aligns to its solution strategy to “make vulnerability management simpler.” As such, eEye’s new logo is a “simpler” variation of its previous version, maintaining the central “e” element, but omitting the eye-shaped outline of the former. This streamlined new mark also symbolizes the Company’s progressive, forward-thinking culture.

eEye deepened its thought-leadership position in the vulnerability and compliance management market in 2010 by broadening marketing efforts around its already-popular Vulnerability Experts Forum (VEF), a monthly web event held every Wednesday after Patch Tuesday, when Microsoft releases security patches. Particularly in the second half of the year, after the return of eEye CTO and cofounder, Marc Maiffret, hundreds of security professionals from the public and private sectors turned out to hear inside advice from eEye's renowned research team, led by Maiffret. Similarly, the Company launched “Minute with Maiffret,” a social media resource offering Maiffret’s commentary on current events, trends, and breaking news. eEye also launched its Zero Day Tracker, a free service that provides the most up-to-date information available on Zero Day vulnerabilities and how to combat them.

“We’ve got a running start on 2011 because of the strategic and operational efforts executed successfully in 2010,” said Marc Maiffret, eEye CTO and cofounder. “Both from a technical and organizational standpoint, this momentum fuels eEye’s drive to serve the IT Security community with better solutions, support, and expert guidance.”
